FINAL PROJECT
IDEAS AND RESEARCH
For my final outcome I am relying on Barthes statement that 'how the image is cannoted is entirely dependent on the conventions and expectations of the society in which the image appears'. My idea is to take 2 different tracks of 2 different musical instruments (I am using music instead of a static image) and then play it to people from different age groups, asking them to do quick drawings that reflected how they felt while listening. If my theory is wright, I should get a variety of responces, because while some older people would like listening to piano for example, because it would make them feel calm and relaxed, younger ones might find it boring, monotonous.
Wssili Kandinsky, was one of the teacers at Bauhaus. His work was based on music, feelings and geometrical forms. I think he is a good reference to my final project, because his paintings wore done by listening to the sertain type of music and reflecting the feelings while doing so.

I asked 5 people, of different ages to do as many few second drawings as they could manage in the time that track was playing. I limited their choice of media to a watercolour paint and two different size brushes. I ended up with 36 drawings, out of which I created 2 collages, one out of drawing made lisstening to a 'drum' track, and other out of drawings made lisstening to a 'saxophone' track.
